Why do ex-FAANG employees highlight these companies in their profiles? What makes them deserve bragging rights?
The credential carries weight in tech. These companies have tough hiring processes and high standards.
But should this be a point of pride? These same companies face serious ethical questions.
Facebook’s election interference issues. Google and others violating privacy rules. Leaders like Zuckerberg and Bezos making questionable choices.
Working at these places shows technical skill. But featuring it prominently in LinkedIn headlines or personal branding? That sends a different message.
It suggests technical excellence without equal concern for ethics. Skills matter, but so do values.
Perhaps we should evaluate talent beyond just the prestigious company names on a resume.
